After graduating in June of 2018 I plan to peruse an opportunity to intern with SanMar located in Issaquah, Washington. SanMar is a private company that collaborates with a variety of sportswear brands to provide consumers with quality imprinted sportswear. I will be interning in the Global Sourcing department, working closely with the merchandising department to select quality material from international vendors to construct the companies garments out of.

            During my time with San Mar I hope to assess proper business relations with vendors, improve my communication skills, work closely with textiles, gain international retail experience as well as experience working in a professional environment.

            Upon graduating from the Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising program as well as minoring in Retail Management and Technology I will have knowledge that will help me to excel in the Global Sourcing position. e Consumer Textiles and Apparel Manufacturing courses have given me the capability to identify textiles and their qualities as well as an understanding of the apparel manufacturing processes that will be applicable to the position. In addition, the International Retailing course has provided me with knowledge regarding cross cultural communication that will also be helpful to the position.
