Education
Educational ExperienceAfter Studying Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising as well as Retail Management and technology I would like to gear my interests towards merchandising/visual merchandising, global sourcing and sustainable fashion
post-graduation. My educational experience has drawn me to these areas of the industry through courses such as Principals of Styling, Buying and Merchandise Planning, Consumer Textiles, Apparel Manufacturing, Sociocultural Aspects of Apparel and a series of Retail Management courses. Although these courses have been the most influential to forming my interests and values that I would like to apply to a position in the fashion industry I have taken many more courses within the program that have given me a well-rounded understanding of important aspects of the industry.

Technical KnowledgeCourses required of the program such as Information Technology courses and Digital Presentation courses have given me the technical knowledge needed construct line sheets, buying and merchandising plans, and visual presentations. In addition, my education has prepared me with the knowledge to operate so ware such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator as well as Microsoft Office Suites.

Personal Strengths and ValuesI believe my knowledge in these areas combined with my ability to work in team based structures as well as independently will allow me to excel in a position that relies on communication, networking, organization and creativity. I enjoy building relationships that allow me to work closely with others to reach a common goal which I believe will help me to be successful in the fashion industry. In addition, to having a well-rounded education my developed work ethic will be foundation for my future successes. I am driven and determined to work in a field that I am passionate about and I believe I will be able to and this in a position in the fashion industry. I value self-expression though clothing and would like to share this value through merchandising and visual merchandising. Additionally, I value sustainable fashion and hope to assist in creating a more ecofriendly industry by working to reduce waste created though apparel manufacturing and distribution.
